The Lost Thing.

Put life aside for 15 minutes and watch this video.
Yes, I know what I said and I mean it.
I promise you it is worth each and every valuable second of your precious time.
This is a short film done by Shaun Tan. Now, I don’t know Shaun. But I love him. He resonates with my mind and soul.

I remembered this video and wanted to share it with you today when I began to clean my room. Lol. Hear me out just a little longer.

So I began to clear my room and I thought to myself “I need to find a place for everything.” Every item that I was trying to organize had to have a designated spot in order for things to look neat. But some of my stuff don’t have a “place”. They’re just all over the place or they could be in different places at different times. But that causes disorder.

So I started to think about us human beings and how funny enough we’ve seemed to kind of created a sort of “tidy room”. We know where we’re supposed to be at all times. At home, or work or in traffic or at a dentist appointment. When we stray is when terrible or amazing things happen, or so we think. It’s only so because it’s unexpected.

So what would happen… if we all got messy for a day? There would be chaos wouldn’t there? Well this video touches on the subject of belonging and if you haven’t thought about it before, it will surely get you thinking about your place in this vast space.

Keep Going!

the world can be better
despite of its flaws
the world can be better
and you’ll be the cause

This is a hearty reminder to be aware of your power as a one-of-a-kind living, breathing, human being. As a soul. As a heart. As a dream. As a person.

You are the most amazing you, the only you that you can be and YOU have the power to make a difference. You do!

We are all connected my friend. So everything you do, believe it or not, affects me some way or the other!

Our actions, our choices, our thoughts and our emotions all trigger a series of events, some of which we are aware but a lot of which we are not. However, it is still important to be aware of your meaning in this vast Universe. If we each take a tiny step towards the same direction, can you imagine what could happen? If we all decide to feel and share Love right now. In this present moment. Don’t you think there’d be a reaction?

Look at Kid President (who is such a cutie btw). He is out there changing the world with his own little hands and feet because he is AWARE of his potential to do so. Don’t wait for the world to change, be the change that you wish to see as Gandhi said.

Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.
Margaret Mead

Everything I do nowadays is focused on that one purpose. To change the world. I’m doing it. I’m changing it. I’m inviting all of you to change it with me 🙂

Sending lots of ❤ your way… Pass it forward!

What doesn’t kill you…

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn’t mean I’m lonely when I’m alone

What doesn’t kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn’t mean I’m over ’cause you’re gone

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself and I

That which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger is a famous saying by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. This quote has reasoning that suffering is an inevitable part of life thus human being have developed many ways to try to ease it–one of which is bestowing upon it transformative powers.

The quote talks about experience. If you survive a challenge, you come out physically and mentally stronger.

Stronger.

Strength.

Let’s talk about that for a second.

What does it mean… To be strong?

We think we know the right answer. But if you really think about it, what we really know is what the wrong answers are.

Being physically strong, for example, is a wrong answer. Being Stone Cold like Steve Austin… also a wrong answer. Is it about being mentally strong? Or emotionally strong? Being able to resist a temptation?

what is TRUE strength?

To me, true strength lies in being vulnerable. In accepting your weakness and learning from your fears. It is standing at a tip of a mountain with no guarantee that the wind won’t blow you over.

To be strong is to embrace the weak in you and carry it with love.

To be strong has nothing to do with strength at all.

Let Go…

Leave your things behind
‘Cause it’s all going off without you
Excuse me too busy you’re writing your tragedy
These mishaps
You bubble-wrap
When you’ve no idea what you’re like

So, let go, let go
Jump in
Oh well, what you waiting for?
It’s all right
‘Cause there’s beauty in the breakdown

We’re scared. We’re so scared.

Scared to fight, to lose, to fall, to break, to start, to finish, to try, to cry, to feel, to reveal, to share, to compare, to love, to not love, to risk, to compromise, to cherish, to remember, to forget…

We live in constant fear of failing at everything. We hold on to memories, get stuck by past tragedies.

Until you heal the wounds of your past, you are going to bleed. You can bandage the bleeding with food, with alcohol, with drugs, with work, with cigarettes, with sex; But eventually, it will all ooze through and stain your life. You must find the strength to open the wounds, Stick your hands inside, pull out the core of the pain that is holding you in your past, the memories and make peace with them

– Iyanla Vanzant

So let go… Just let it go. Take a step forward. Even if you fall, even if you have to crawl… keep going. You will eventually, once again, stand tall.

You are miracle.

Even at your worst, you are still your best.
You are miracle.
You are miracle.
Why is it you insist on walking through this life as though you are any less?

I’ll admit that they’re days where I wake up and feel not so awesome. I didn’t get enough sleep the night before so I have those gigantic black bags around my eyes, my hair decided it wants to go on strike, I feel bloated for some inexplicable reason and those are just the physical characteristics. Sometimes I wake up feeling spiritually broke, as if everything I know to be true flew out a secret window when I was sleeping. I wake up like a newborn, unassuming and unaware. I don’t know anything. I’m lost and confused. Who am I? What am I doing with my life? Sometimes you get the wind knocked out of you. This has happened to me recently. We feel that way in situation that seem to be out of our control. For example, when a bf/gf breaks up with you, when you lose your job even though you never liked it in the first place, when you get robbed, when you’ve been lied or cheated to, when an idea, a dream is shattered.

What do we usually do when things like that happen? Well, since it’s not legal to beat other people up we end up beating ourselves. We beat ourselves down into the ground til we reach so low that we find it difficult to find a single good thing about us.

I’ve been feeling short lately. I’ve been feeling less. I’ve been feeling inadequate. I haven’t been feeling as if i’m giving life my 100%. Each day is a new life and I’ve been squandering some of those lives even though my heart is in the right place, even though i’m aware and I have all the right intentions.

This is why I’m sharing this poem with you today. Because… I was foolish. I was foolish to believe that I had to live up to a stereotypical concept of “perfection” to be “good enough”. I’ve been telling you guys all along. You are enough!

So I ranted to my friend this morning and this is what she told me:

“You’re lovely Dolls. And you’re beyond human even when you don’t give your all.”

And there it was… my “Magic Moment”.

How blind was I not to realize how F#$%*& lucky I am!

I have an amazing life. A beautiful family, lovely friends and I’m just surrounded by miracles… How could I have forgotten that?

Who needs your Love?

I need your love
I need your time
When everything’s wrong
You make it right
I feel so high
I come alive
I need to be free with you tonight
I need your love

I have dedicated this song to myself.

While this song is about being a relationship, I look at it from being in a relationship with YOURSELF.

I find we spend so much of our time, our energy, our thoughts, our feelings, our everything on others. Our family, our friends and our partners, we even stretch ourselves for complete strangers. And I think that’s awesome. I really do. But what about you? Who is loving you? Are you? How often have you neglected yourself for someone else?

There’s the old saying that you can’t love anyone until you learn to love yourself. I think by practicing Self-Love daily, you are more in tune with your core feelings, your true self, your natural spirit and therefore you connect easier with the right people, the right opportunities seem to find you because you are aligned with the Universe.

Loving yourself is an active task. Everyday we must wake and and be conscious that today is another day. No matter how much you loved or neglected yourself yesterday, it starts over today. You can make a change. No one is more deserving of your love than you. Not a soul. You need your love, you need your time. So do yourself a favor and give yourself the gift of YOU!

Compliment yourself, recognize a talent you have, give yourself a pat on the back for facing a challenge, a fear, trying something new. Acknowledge everything about yourself and just fall into a deep love with it.

I think one great tip is that you should always love yourself. If you don’t love yourself, take care of yourself, cater to yourself and that little inner voice, you will really not be very worthy of being with someone else, because you won’t be the best version of you.
